Story

Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a genetic disorder in which the structure of connective tissue is abnormal due to a gene mutation. This results in abnormally fragile and hyper-extensible tissues throughout the body which can lead to a range of multi-systemic symptoms; the effect on the body is widespread and not limited to one body system.

My challenges this year include cycling from London to Bruges, London to Oxford and Cotswold 100 km cycle. Having HEDS makes exercise very difficult and more prone to injury but cycling being a low impact sport is ok. Last year I ended up on crutches for 3 months because I wore the wrong size boots! I am trying to have it so that every mile I do in my wheelchair, I'll do 5 running and cycle 10 as another challenge!

Thank you so much for the support and for vewing the page. Every $ helps.

You can also support by texting from a UK phone. Text HEDS50 with the amount ie £1/5/10 etc, To 70070 and accept the option to add gift aid.
