We are walking the London marathon to raise awareness of ME and funds for the ME Association for Katy. My daughter was diagnosed age 12 last October with this awful illness. Katy has gone from an intelligent active child who loved school, dance, cheerleading, karate to being unable to even walk or do the basic things we all take for granted. Katy is so brave and never complains or feels sorry for herself but it is heartbreaking as a parent to watch. There is still so little known or understood about ME and many still don't see it as a real illness, trust me it is. The impact on our family, Katy has a sister Amelia age 10 and a brother Joseph age 8 has been huge. Through it all however we have stayed strong as a family and have amazing friends who have not forgotten Katy. It is very true that ME can render the sufferer invisible and it is vital that we do not let the sufferers disappear but instead help them to recover their lives.
Any amount you can donate will help, thank you and to my very good friend Lynette for starting this whole process and giving me the courage to attempt it!
