Story
Hi, we are the Section of Imaging and Neurobiology of Psychosis (SINaPs) academic research team, based at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IOPPN), King's College London and led by Professor Paola Dazzan. Our team, which includes graduate and undergraduate students, clinicians, psychologists and neuroimagers, passionately studies the brain and mental health. In particular, we investigate and try to understand how experiences such as early life stress can have an impact on brain development and mental health, particularly in young people and during important periods of life such as in pregnancy. We do this so that we can help to promote mental health.
From the 1st - 31st May 2021, we will be running to bring people together to raise money & awareness for mental health. Mental Health Awareness week is 10th - 16th May 2021, and the theme is 'Nature', so we will be getting the running (and conversation) going throughout May.

Runr: We love the way running brings together a community of like minded individuals, who support & inspire each other on a daily basis. So we wanted to harness this support to help raise money and awareness for mental health and we also want to see how many miles we can clock up together! So far, the Miles For Mind community have raised over £372,000 for Mind and we're looking to build on this throughout the year. Every £1 you sponsor will help Mind continue the amazing work they do to ensure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.
