Story
Asalam Alaykum! Peace be with you!
JazakumAllah khair and thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
We are taking part in an exciting and life changing experience inshaAllah, and invite YOU to join us. The challenge is part of Islamic Relief's international challenges and involves an 8 day trek of Mount Sinai in Egypt, to raise much needed money to help orphan children in Gaza.
Whilst we enjoy our luxurious lives in the comfort and safety of our homes, with the coolness of our eyes (our children) playing in a joyous manner, these orphans have had to witness at first hand the mass killing of their loving parents, dear families and close friends. These innocent souls are now left to struggle to survive each day, not knowing where their next serene steps will take them.
The challenge begins on 15th June, when 18 novices will commence our once-in-a-lifetime endurance test which will last for eight days, trekking across desert and rock terrain in the suffocating heat as we scale the Sinai region including 3 large peaks, 4 smaller mounds and the valleys in between.
The distance we will cover is twice the size of Belgium!! Mount Sinai itself stands at 2285m.
Islamic Relief’s ongoing commitment to help the people of Gaza will ensure the money raised is used to provide food, clothing, shelter, education and healthcare for thousands of innocent children who have been orphaned as a result of the illegal conflict.
In order to complete the trek, our group of challengers need to raise £50, 000 two weeks prior to going on the trek. The cost of expenses i.e. travel, accomodation and food will be met seperately so that 100% of your donations go straight to the neediest!! Can we conquer it? With your help, YES we can!!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Islamic Relief gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, JustGiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Together we can turn the tide of poverty, loneliness, hunger, illness, and hopelessness into a wave of love, security, and a chance for a better future.
From the Orphans in Gaza and the Sinai Challengers
Sahl ibn Sa'd reported that the Prophet SAW, said, "I and the guardian of the orphan will be in the Garden like that," indicating his forefinger and middle finger.
