Story
As many know, I'm a keen indoor cyclist and runner, now, I'm daring to venture outside with the support a great group of friends from my Zwift team mates in Team Valhalla.
We will be cycling a route of 97km with approx. 1,500m of climbing. Most of this is off-road so the nice light-weight bike has to stay at home and the heavy mountain bike gets some serious KM's put on it.
Lockdown has meant that I really haven't been cycling outside much this last year other than a trips to the supermarket or around the park with my daughter, so this is going to be a massive culture shock for me. I just hope the indoor training pays off!
Team Valhalla are taking on the London to Brighton off road cycle to: Ride together, have fun, and make some money for the British Heart Foundation, who work around the clock supporting research and initiatives to help those who suffer from heart diseases. It's a real honour to be able to do this together, and we look forward to seeing you all at the finish line!
I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
