I love what Children with Cancer UK stands for  

At Children with Cancer UK we actively raise and invest money for vital specialist research to save the lives of every child with cancer and keep their family together.Our vision is a world where every child diagnosed with cancer gets to ring their end of cancer treatment bell.

I personally grew up around kids with life threatening illnesses. My Mum worked for a charity called Reach For A Dream. So it was just part of what I knew and was privileged to be part of the process. The charity fulfilled the dreams of kids with life threatening illnesses of varying kinds. These kids were always so amazing and positive and resilient. But these dreams and other group outings gave them a lot of positivity in what were very trying times for them and their families. 

I think any charity that supports children and their families going through such devastating times is worthy of all our support and encouragement. 

I'm not running alone.  My friends are also running  we are The African Striders running team ... 

We are a group of enthusiastic runners who have been fortunate to all get entries into the 2022 London Marathon. 

How did we get so lucky? 16 of us all getting these hard to come by entries the same year? Well due to the graciousness of the charity *Children with Cancer UK*. 

So now we are here to raise as much money for the charity as humanly possible. 

Who are we?

We are 14 women (12 from SA, 2 from Ghana) and 2 men (sometimes the husband's are included). What is the common denominator? We love to run. And we believe that Running Is A Team Sport. Because most of all, we love to run together. 

Just to be clear, we are not raising funds to get us to London or enter the run. We are paying for all of that ourselves. Anything we raise goes directly to the charity Children with Cancer UK. And we are planning to show the world how generous and amazing Africans are. We are passionate, proud Africans who believe in the ethos and love our amazing African spirit brings.
