I am pleased to say that we completed the 50 miles successfully on a lovely day , no small thanks to my friend Dave Brumpton for being my 'pacer'. What I gave him in years he gave me in training!  (a fitter man)- However I still found the last 10 miles a killer in amongst quite a lot of 'serious' cyclists.  Thanks to the organisers and especially big thanks to those who have sponsored me.
