In memory of Millie May Wright
We are raising £12,000 to reach our funding target to employ two family support workers on Ward L50 to give hands-on help to families caring for children with life threatening non-malignant liver, renal and haematological conditions.

Story

We are here to make life a little easier for the families of children diagnosed with rare life threatening non-malignant liver, renal and haematological conditions who are being treated at Leeds Childrens Hospital. Money raised goes to provide practical, financial and emotional help to families who endure long hospital stays. The Millie Wright Childrens Charity recognises the huge strain and uncertainty arising from having a sick child and is gearing-up to provide a range of services, working alongside ward staff to alleviate some of the challenges of being, or supporting, a long stay in-patient. The services that we will provide are mirrored on services that already exist on the oncology wards via Leeds-based cancer charity, Candlelighters Trust, however comparable support is not available to families on other wards. We aim to target this inequality and close this gap.
