I am the Finance Director at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. I am hoping to raise £1,000 for Leeds Hospitals Charity (formerly Leeds Cares) as part of their "Hospital Heroes" campaign.

Leeds Hospitals Charity (formerly Leeds Cares) is the charity that supports the wonderful staff at the Trust to deliver the best care to millions of patients and their families each year.

My main fund raising idea is to walk from my house in Leeds to my sister’s house in Sheffield in one day, when the covid restrictions allow.

When I first came to Leeds to go to University I had the idea that if ever things got really bad and my student grant (they had such things in those days) had run out I could always walk home ... luckily things never did get that bad but now is the time to give it a go !

According to google maps the distance is 30.7 miles and takes 10 hours 21 mins non stop. It is also apparently up hill! 

I will set off as we approach the £1,000 mark and there is sufficient daylight to do it in one go :) 

Supported by my brilliant team in the Trust who are coming up with the fund raising ideas I will post additional activities as we go along
