Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know my father suffers from Alzheimers' disease and has been in care homes for the last 2 years. Sadly earlier this year he fell and cut his leg quite badly. The wound didn't heal and he didn't stop bleeding - after a few days he was diagnosed with Acquired Haemophilia, a very rare disease that affects around 1 in a million people late in life - and he was admitted to St James' Hospital in Leeds (Jimmy's). The whole haemotology team at Jimmy's has been brilliant, looking after Dad as they tried to kick start his clotting function again whilst putting up with the mood swings caused by his dementia. He will shortly be discharged and will return to the care home in Harrogate. This fundraising activity is my way of saying thank you to everyone on Ward 88.
