Honestly, we’re just as surprised as you are.
Having decided to make some ‘lifestyle changes' a year ago, we have set ourselves the challenge of running the Henley 10k race on the 9th of September. All the way round, no taxis allowed. We might have been a tad tipsy when we made this decision, but we’re committed to it now. We’ve been Nordic Walking to get fitter, Simon in particular has lost a fair bit of timber, but now we need to put some trainers on and be able to trundle along for over 6 miles to merit your support.
Now Simon hasn’t run that kind of distance since he was late leaving the pub for his 10.30pm curfew aged 16¾ and many will contest he never ran that far in total over his whole rugby playing years so this is going to need some serious preparation.
We’re up for the challenge to spend the next few months sweating and panting and are very grateful for your donation - it means a lot to us and to Dance Syndrome.
Why Dance Syndrome?
Simon has been privileged to be involved with this inspirational charity since 2017 and was first attracted by their way of training Dance Leaders with learning disabilities to conduct inclusive workshops (train the trainer) but while working with them has been further enthused by the effect their work has on the participants who visibly gain in confidence and self belief through leading and learning to dance together.
This will be their second trip to the Edinburgh Fringe and the whole event will be choreographed, rehearsed, publicised and performed by the inclusive troupe who are also fundraising themselves for the event. They run a very lean ship and all of your donation will go directly towards making these performances possible and therefore providing an amazing platform to get their "Dancer led, disability inspired” message out.
Thank you very much from both of us and on behalf of Dance Syndrome.
