We fund research, provide support, campaign to bring more than hope to those affected.

Story

Ian, Andy, Simon, Taff and Dan are trying to raise money for Pancreatic cancer UK.  We have lost a member of our team and  friends and family to this terrible disease and want to take this opportunity to try and raise as much money as possible to help fight it.

We work at The Open University and have been involved with the Ptolemy instrument.  Ptolemy is an instrument on-board the Rosetta Lander that will attempt the first controlled landing on a comet on Wednesday 12th of November.  On Wednesday evening we hope to receive a signal and response from our instrument.  In memory of Nick who cannot share this moment we would like to have a “Shave the Scientist” to try and raise money to help fight pancreatic cancer.  Understandably some of the least stylish of our team are not so worried about losing their locks.  Therefore we have planned a tiered shaving (to a grade 2) so that I can try and protect my hair.

> If we reach £400 then Taff will let his ginger locks go

> If we hit £500 then Dan will say goodbye to his mullet

>If we make it to £750 then Andy will lose the comb-over

> At £1000 and I (Simon) will lose the platinum highlights

> At £2000 then Ian (the Boss) will lose his lovely locks

We have set the limits low, but please do give even if the targets are passed (I know - wishful thinking lol).  Please don’t forget to gift aid as it makes a big difference.

Thanks for reading and hopefully for your donation.

Simon

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.
