Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
on 21-23rd July 2011 i will be riding along with five others the 170 Miles from Morecambe to Bridlington to raise funds for Alder Hey Hospitals Imagine Appeal. This cause is very close to my heart as the hospital saved my life as a newborn baby. Soon after birth i was diagnosed wath a congenital diagphamatic Hernia (CDH) and rushed to Alder Hey Hospital. My chance of survival was rated as extremely slim. Mum and Dad where told to expect the worst and i was christened at the hospital (this is how i ended up with the middle name Terence!!) Even now, nearly forty years on, the survival rates for babies born with CDH is still only 50%
Luckily for me, Alder Hey had one of the pioneers of CDH surgery working there and I was operated on at 12 hours old. As you can probably tell the operation was a success and I am here to tell the tale. Without going into too much detail. It is time to show my gratitude for the chance of life I was given by the amazing staff at Alder Hey hospital. By donating to Alder Hey's Imagine appeal you will not only be helping the hospital save the lives of sick children; but also help the families of the children that haven't been as lucky as me.
I am hoping to raise at least £500 for the Imagine appeal, so please dig deep. I know that these are difficult financial times but even the smallest donation will help. You can donate either online or doante £3.00 by texting BURT71 to 70070.
So please dig deep and donate now.
