We provide support services and work to reduce the number of baby deaths

Story

Our baby boy Austin, was born on the 28th March 2022. A traumatic delivery meant that Austin went without oxygen and needed to be resuscitated.

The staff, initially at Worthing hospital, the Neonatal Ambulance Team and then finally the Trevor Mann Specialist Baby Unit (TMBU) all did an incredible job trying to save Austin. Their efforts were truly superhuman and crucially allowed Hannah and I to spend some precious time with Austin to just simply be his parents and shower him with love before he passed away in our arms.

The experience of losing Austin was heartachingly painful and led to both Hannah and I feeling quite alone from the rest of the world with our grief.  The community of Sands was something that gave us a lifeline and helped support us through the early days and and continue to do so now.  The family we have found in this group, and in particular the football team for bereaved Dads has connected us to others that have had similar experiences and allowed us to communicate and be heard and understood.  The network of support has been invaluable.

That is why we want to raise as much money as possible for these amazing people and this incredible community to carry on doing their incredible work.

Any donation great or small will be very gratefully received.

Thank you

Hannah, Simon & Grace
