Story

Hello my name is Simon Reed I am the head of section for girls football at ringwood town fc and I am also an army veteran who served two tours fighting on the frontline in Afghanistan. I have seen the damage war causes and the destruction it causes. I could not sit around and do nothing so myself and with the help of my amazing girl footballers we want to raise money. I worked out that it is 1586 miles from ringwood to Kyiv and I want to us to replicate that walk as so many Ukrainians are doing that now.

So an 11v11 football pitch diameter is around 420m so we would have to walk as a collective 6334 times around the pitch. We are looking to do this in may the actual date TBC please feel free to come show your support.

This will be taking part at ringwood town FC on the 21st may from 1000-1700. There will be a water station, a bar and a bbq. Please come along to support or even do some laps if you wish.

There are so many people suffering at the hands of a disgusting waste of oxygen human so let’s get this done and chip in together to help those in need.

As the world watches in horror the events unfold in Ukraine, it's hard to comprehend the devastating impact this conflict is having on the civilian population. Women, men and children caught in heavy fighting and continuous airstrikes have been forced to flee their homes with only the possessions they can carry. Countless families have been torn apart and lives destroyed. Now refugees are facing an uncertain future, surviving in sub-zero temperatures without basic amenities. There is an urgent need for food, water, shelter and medical assistance. By working together we can provide this desperately needed help. By uniting and each lending our support we can help ease the suffering of these innocent people. Please #PlayYourPart and give what you can. For maximum impact, the donation you give will be distributed equally between five nonprofit organisations working right now in Ukraine and the surrounding areas:World Food ProgrammeUNHCRUNICEFLaureus Sport for GoodOrder of Malta
