We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Laura , Owen and I are running the Berlin Marathon on the 25th
of September in an effort to raise much needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.

I'll try to keep my Instagram updated with my progress if you are interested
https://www.instagram.com/slimsim86/

Alzheimer's has affected my family and the family members of some my closest friends, and it's really hard to see how badly it effects people. It’s a horrible disease and sadly not one that is going to be cured easily. But it’s a disease and diseases can be cured.

We’re running for the Alzheimer’s Society because they are the UK's
leading dementia support and research charity. They aim to be there for anyone affected by any form of dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

They not only provide information and practical and emotional support to help people live well with dementia, they invest in world-class research with the ultimate goal of defeating it.

They also campaign to improve public understanding of dementia and the devastating impact it can have, and make sure it's taken seriously and acted on by our governments.

 Please give what you can.

£20 could pay for a person with dementia, or their carer, to spend an hour with a Dementia Support Worker.

£50 could fund the equipment a dementia researcher needs to investigate ways to improve care and treatment for the condition.

£103 could pay for a person with dementia or their carer to attend peer support sessions for a month.

£300 could pay for a focus group for people with dementia and their carers to consult about current policy issues and make sure their needs are represented.

£3000 could pay for a brain scanning equipment to detect changes in the brain caused by Alzheimer's disease, in the hope of finding an affordable, non-invasive test to diagnose the condition.

Thank you

Simon
