Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Simon Mudge. My collar number is 1148 and for 25 years I served the public as a Police Officer.
This year I have been medically retired from the job I loved due to mental health. I have been diagnosed with complex PTSD and severe depression.
In my long career I have seen the very worst side of life, been present when families are experiencing their worst nightmares and taken control when no one else would.
I have given my service to protecting the public and in return have been living my nightmare with severe mental health. I will spend the rest of my life on medication.
The Police Service like many public departments have experienced major cuts and there is not enough support for emergency workers and their families. I was at my lowest point and had hit rock bottom when the BLUE LAMP FOuNDATION offered me a lifeline with a grant to help fund private and specialist treatment and counselling.
My treatment is on the first rung of the ladder and I am very aware others in the emergency service desperately need this help.
I am hoping to raise £5000 which would help other officers get this vital support
If every Police Officer or member of support staff in the force I worked for gave £2 we could raise this and more - I would hope senior officers would donate much more and support from others would go a long way to supporting this wonderful charity.
Please donate what you can on this page or text MUDG48 £? To 70070 and let others know about this fundraising effort
Thank you
