Story
This year I will be taking on the London Marathon to raise money for Phyllis Tuckwell, which provides hospice care for adult patients and their families living with cancer or other advanced terminal illnesses in the Surrey and North Hampshire area, where I live.
I am extremely humbled to be taking on this challenge in memory of my late, great friend, Holly Webber, who was cared for by the amazing team at Phyllis Tuckwell before her passing a decade ago. Her wonderful family continue to support the charity to this day - and I am proud to call them friends.
Quite simply, Holly was someone who could find joy in any situation and with anybody. She was talented, driven and above all, great fun to be around. To see her battle cancer so bravely was just another example of her boundless positivity in the face of unimaginable adversity.
Phyllis Tuckwell must raise over £25,000 every single day to offer all of its services, with only around 20% of that money coming from the Government/NHS. I know first-hand how important all these services are and find it a huge source of inspiration to be able to support them in this way.
Any donation, no matter how small or large, will help a service that is relied upon by patients and families in the darkest of times.
