After a horrendous 175km from Gretna to Stirling in torrential rain day 8 was complete contrast with great conditions and breathtaking scenery as we climbed 165km up through the highlands to Kingussie loch Tay was beautiful and the 4 major climbs were challenging had to use the A9 for while which was scary but then cut off onto dodgy but much safer cycle way arrived in Kingussie at 7.30. Long days !

Act in haste - repent at leisure.
Having dislocated my hip in a jumping accident last year and spending three months on crutches, I was looking for a new challenge when Shane approached me, caught me with my guard down and signed me up before I realised what I'd let myself in for. On investigation I began to realise just how big a challenge this will be, (an average of 110 miles a day for 10 days!) not least because of having not been on a racing bike for almost 25 years.
My motivation will come from two sources. Firstly, knowing that what I raise will go some way towards thanking MacMillan for the help and support they gave to both my parents towards the end of their lives and secondly, knowing that because of your donations there is no getting off.
I'm not sure I should be thanking you at this stage, in fact I'll probably be cursing you for most of the ride, but any contribution you are able to give will make the achievement well worth it.
