Story
Towards the end of 2017 I met an amazing couple. Emily and Pete Shaw are remarkable people. In Sept 2016, Emily gave birth to beautiful twins James and Isabel. After a few weeks James got very sick and had to be admitted to Great Ormond Street. Very sadly, despite all best efforts, James didn’t make it. A few weeks later his sister got taken to GOSH with something completely unrelated. Fantastic news is that Isabel made a full recovery and is doing great now.
Despite going through the worst experience imaginable the Shaws decided to channel their terrible loss into something positive. They set up the Little Jimmy Brighter Future Fund at GOSH, to raise funds for the hospital in memory of their gorgeous boy.
In about 2 years they have raised near £300k for Great Ormond Street, which is just exceptional. I’ve said to Emily and Pete I wanted to raise some money for Little Jimmys for a while. Despite all their arm twisting (they are VERY persuasive!) I refused to join their Half Marathon team.
So here I am, going for my personal challenge. A whole month with no refreshing G&Ts, no yummy wines and most significantly no plethora of cocktails.
If you could help, your dosh will really go towards helping the most seriously ill children in the country.
So cheers, bottoms up, sante, slainte, and THANKS 🍸🍾🍷🥂🥃
