National 3 Peaks Challenge · 6 February 2013

We are on call 24/7, 365 days a year to provide mountain search and rescue.

Story

I've been talking about doing this challenge for a long time. Then on a less than casual 46 mile walk in June 2012 I decided that it was time to get things sorted so we have put a team together and we are completing the challenge on 22nd June 2013. The nations 3 highest peaks Ben Nevis, Scafel Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours or less.

Training started in October there are already photos of us posted on top of Ben Nevis during our first training weekend. Training has also involved a lot more mountain walking than we usually get to so we can now be found up mountains most weekends.

we have a challenge page at this address https://www.threepeakschallenge.net/10098/blood-sweat-and-beers

We did not set out to do this challenge for charity but we are regularly up mountains and although we've never needed Mountain rescue and hope we never will. They are a worthy cause to do this fundraising for. Even though you can dial 999 and ask for Mountain rescue they are not a paid emergency service, it is run by volunteers.
