Story
Hi everyone!
On 2nd October 2022, I will be taking part in the TCS London Marathon for Brain Research UK. The main inspiration for taking part is to honour the life of the legend that is my Dad, who sadly passed away just over 3 years ago from a brain tumour.
I will be aiming to raise in excess of £2000 for Brain Research UK, who are currently working to ensure that everyone with a neurological condition lives better, for longer.
I, of course, still think about Dad every day and have been wanting to raise some money in his name for a while. Dad was an avid cyclist, all round sport lover and the most competitive person I've ever met, so I think he'd enjoy watching me put myself through a bit of pain for just over 26 miles! Running a marathon in Dad's honour is something that I'm really excited to do and will hopefully be a day that we can look back on as a great occasion. I know I don't speak for just myself when I say that Dad is sorely missed every single day, particularly his unique sense of humour and classic one liners!
I really hope you can join me in raising some money for a fantastic charity, who are working to ensure that other families going through similar circumstances can come through it with more positive outcomes. I will be extremely grateful for any donations towards this cause, no matter how big or small.
My training starts tomorrow and I will try and update this page with any milestones that I hit along the way and to keep you all in the loop with my progress.
All the best and just remember, wherever you go, there you are!
Cheers,
Sid
