Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will know Hayley and I lost our beautiful little baby boy Marshall only a few short hours after he was born on 19th December last year. Unbeknown to us he had Transposition of the Great Arteries a congenital heart disease where his Aorta and Pulmonary Artery are in the opposite positions. The photo on my page is the one and only cuddle I got with him before we realised something was wrong.
Hayley is doing a sponsored walk on Mothers Day (Thank you so much to all those who have supported her) and her strength and courage has inspired me to get off my backside and also try to make a small difference as a tribute to Marshall.
Considering I am overweight and spectacularly unfit and having turned 40 yesterday I decided to ask Hayley for a bike for my birthday and to enrol for this overnight bike ride from London down to Brighton. Its downhill so how hard can it be right?... So today I have paid my enrolment fee and I having posted this page to all the lovely people I know I guess I am now committed... It's going to be hardwork and probably painful, but also hopefully at times fun, all in the name of a great cause and a little baby we miss like crazy.
I have roped in the distinguished Mr Jamie Scales for moral support and guidance on all things cycling and if anyone else fancies joining then the more the merrier!!
All support however small is appreciated, so thank you all very much in advance
