Story
Simon and Amanda are planning to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro in October, a trip that has been postponed 3 times now. This challenge is something we have talked about for a while and the opportunity came up in 2019 to fulfil this plan as part of an organised expedition raising money for charity in the process. The global charity concerned is the International Justice Mission (IJM), raising funds to tackle modern day slavery.
Over 40 million children, women and men are held in slavery today more than any other time in history and the pandemic has only increased the vulnerability of people living in poverty to exploitation and violence. The charity is set up to rescue and restore to health victims of slavery, bringing perpetrators to justice and strengthening the justice systems around the world. Simon has raised money for this charity in the past by cycling from London to Paris and to the Isle of Wight and back and discovered what a great group of people they are. Therefore we decided to join forces with them and be part of their very well organised team and help to raise funds for this very good cause.
Your support will help IJM continue their crucial work to stop slavery and violent oppression for good.
