Tuesday 2nd March is my 82 birthday and to mark this grand feat of survival, I'm taking part in The Big Sleep at Home on Friday 5th March to support Alabaré.  I am going to give up my warm cosy bed for the night and sleep out in the outhouse.  As Patron to Alabaré I know the tremendous work done by the charity to support homeless and vulnerable people, including Veterans. 

Alabaré helps their clients transform their lives, providing accommodation and helping them gain the skills, confidence and opportunities to live a fulfilled life. Each year they enable around 2,000 people to come off the streets but I know first-hand how challenging this work is.  The number who need their help is rising, people are coming to them with more complex needs, and so something must be done! 

I am planning to sleep one really uncomfortable night in my drafty outhouse to encourage you to give.  If I raise £5,000 - I promise to move from the outhouse inside and onto the sofa.  If I raise £10,000 - then I might even get to have a blanket or two!  And if I beat my target of £15,000 then I'll get to sleep in my bed. This birthday promises to be memorable! Thank you in advance for your generosity and for cheering me on!
