I have been a volunteer with this charity for 11 years and in that time have been involved with many aspects of what they do including visiting families who have applied for a wish, done fundraising, delivered presentations, collected cheques, done bucket collections, assisted with training of new volunteers and anything else I'm able to help with!

I've also seen first hand the effect a wish being granted can have on a child and their family, not only with a number of children who have experienced wishes but also my own teenage daughter Hannah who herself had a wish after being diagnosed with cancer.

Make-A-Wish UK grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Granting their wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They're given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and given the chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever whatever their future may hold. We want to transform the lives of over 1,000 children this year by granting their One True Wish!
