The Crichton lockdown sponsored walk/run

Crichton lockdown sponsored walk · 4 May 2020
Isolation is tough for all of us, cooped up with your family or perhaps on your own. Can you imagine all your family in one room with a shared kitchen? Or perhaps with no home at all? This is a heartbreaking reality for those that reach out to Shelter for help.
Shelter is our partner charity and they are struggling right now. Before the crisis, Shelter was only able to answer 1 in 10 calls to their Emergency Helpline. With face to face services closed, they’ve seen a sharp rise in calls and they can’t give the support they would like, aren’t getting the funding and those that need them are increasing by the day.
I want to help. I was going to do a sponosred walk to raise money to help Shelter, now I can’t do that and they need the money more than ever. Instead I have roped in my family and we plan to each run or walk 5km every day across a week - 175km in total (respecting government advice for social distancing). I know you wouldn’t sponsor me just for the walk, but want to do it anyway.
Will you support me as I support shelter? I will put in the first £50 but if you can spare it, I would be so grateful if you would sponsor me to help those that have nothing.
A home is a fundamental human need and a basic moral right, as vital as education or healthcare. But in Britain today, 4,750 people sleep on the streets on any given night and 90,000 households are stuck in unsuitable temporary accommodation, such as homeless hostels. We're partnering with Shelter to help get people who have been affected by homelessness back into work.Thank you very much for your support.
