Story
I joined HALO in 1998, working on the K5 mine belt in Cambodia one of the densest concentrations of mine sin the world. Since then I have worked across Central and South East Asia, Africa, the Balkans and the Caucasus. Everywhere I have seen peoples lived transformed by clearance. They can safely return to their homes and cultivate their land. For the last four years the focus of my work has been on setting up projects in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya. Working in shattered cities is very different to the work that I did more than twenty years ago but just as crucial.
I am taking part in HALOs SAFE STEPS: Salisbury Plain Walk to help children and families living in fear of landmines and the explosive debris of war. The HALO Trust works around the world removing landmines and explosives to prevent devastating accidents. By sponsoring me on HALO's 34km walk across Salisbury Plain you can help create SAFE STEPS for all. Thank you.
