Great North Run 2019
Campaign by Maggie's Centres (RCN SC024414)
The amazing Team Maggie's taking on the 2018 Great North Run for the benefit of people affected by cancer.

Story

On 28th July 2019 I lost my amazing wife Gayle Burke to cancer. I will be running this years Great North Run in her memory, in particular I will be thinking about her during the last mile which I ran only a week before she passed away pushing Gayle in her wheelchair whilst she gave me encouragement to go faster.

All money raised will go to the Maggie’s Centre at the Freeman hospital Newcastle who over the last 2 years have supported not only Gayle but myself during some difficult times.

Maggie's provides a safe haven for people in the midst of tough questions, exhausting treatment and difficult emotions that cancer brings. The invaluable support of Team Maggie's will ensure that Maggies is able to provide practical, emotional and social support to any family affected by cancer, at any time, free of charge.
