Story
As many of my friends and family know, over the years I have climbed Kilimanjaro more than most people! This may well be my final climb. I have never climbed for charity, therefore for my final " Hurrah" I have decided to climb for Blood Cancer UK in memory of my sister-in-law -- Roslyn Keates (nee Todd).
Roslyn was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia when she was 23. After an incredibly brave fight over the next 2 years including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and bone marrow transplant, she sadly died at the age of 25.
Roslyn was a truly wonderful person - who lit up every room she entered with her passion and zest for life. Nothing was ever done in half measures and is still greatly missed by us all.
Over 40,000 people are diagnosed with a blood cancer each year in the UK, and over 250,000 people are currently living with blood cancer. By raising some money in Ros's memory I hope that we can play a small part in preventing the loss of life to blood cancer and avoiding the devastation this causes to their family and friends.
