On 20 September 2009 I'm taking part in the Great North Run in memory of my dad, Gordon, who passed away last year after a long and determined fight against cancer.

I'm running in support of the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. Their nurses gave Dad the most fantastic care so he could spend his last days at home.

The care provided by this charity lets people with terminal cancer choose where they spend their final moments, all at no cost to the patient, so they really need fundraisers like us to continue.
