Story

7 year old Adam Sime from East Kilbride in Scotland has been very fortunate to secure a grid slot in the extremely popular Settrington Cup Pedal Car races at this year's Goodwood Revival Motor Race Meeting.

Thanks to Chris and Andy Middlehurst, Adam is racing one of their pristine Austin J40 pedal cars, which is entered under The Jim Clark Trust banner, to help raise the profile and funds for the Trust.  This was set up in Jim Clark's memory after the Scotsman's untimely loss 51 years ago to help showcase his trophies, cars and memorabilia from his extremely successful Motor Racing career.  Jim won the F1 World Championship twice and the Indy 500 amongst many other accolades.  The trust are about to open their museum in Duns, after extensive renovation and extension to house even more cars and memorabilia and hope to continue to protect the heritage, educate and inspire the next generation of motor racing fans.

Adam's dad (Barry Sime) and grandfather (Jimmy Sime) have been involved in motor racing for many years with their SimeRacing.co.uk team and grew up with Jim Clark as one of their boyhood heros, together with fellow Scot and current Honorary President of the Trust: Sir Jackie Stewart, who both took the F1 Championship by storm.

Having just raced at Goodwood earlier in 2019 in their 1964 Mini Cooper S for the first time, they are delighted that Adam has the chance to compete at the over subscribed event in the Settrington Cup already, which is always a favourite of the 150,000+ crowd, in the pedal car races and is sure to feature on the ITV4 TV coverage.

Have a Google search for Settrington Cup for more details and videos, or if you are fortunate enough to be attending Goodwood, please come and say hello!  Adam will be in the traditional Lotus Green coloured car, displaying number 25, the same number as dad's Mini!

Please consider sponsoring Adam to take on this possible once in a lifetime opportunity and repay Chris and Andy Middlehurst's kind use of the car, to help promote and ensure Jim Clark's legacy and museum are around for another 50 years.
