Supporting more people affected by breast cancer faster

Story

As part of Sahara Force India's partnership with Breast Cancer Care, we organised lots of amazing fundraising activity at the Force India Factory and Silverstone Woodlands throughout the British Grand Prix in the first week of July to help support more people affected by breast cancer faster.

At Silverstone Woodlands we joined up with Force India partner BWT to give out chilled, magnesium mineralised water in reusable water bottles to our fans for a suggested £2 donation to Breast Cancer Care.  The bottles could be refilled all weekend free of charge, which went down a treat in the scorching hot weather!  On top of all this amazing fundraising with BWT, the bar staff throughout Silverstone Woodlands also got behind the cause by running 'Charity Hour' each evening, asking customers if they'd like to add a £1 donation to Breast Cancer Care to their order.  With staff and volunteers from BWT, Force India and Breast Cancer Care offering their time to help fundraise, and the Polar bar staff team showing their support too, it was a real team effort and together we raised an incredible £9,798 in just four days!

Up at the Force India Factory on Saturday, we hosted a raffle and set up a Scalextric set for everyone to enjoy after purchasing a raffle ticket (so everyone was a winner really!).  Thanks to the generosity of all our staff on the day and some incredible prizes donated by the Force India team and partners, we raised over £1,000 and there were some very happy raffle winners by the end of the day!

On Race Day at the Force India Partner Party, we hosted our first ever live auction with some fantastic, one of a kind prizes available for our lucky guests to bid for.  We also welcomed Jackie Scully, a Breast Cancer Care supporter and volunteer, to the stage to share her own experience of breast cancer.  It was incredibly moving hearing Jackie talk and we felt privileged to know that through our partnership with Breast cancer Care, we are helping to support others like Jackie who have been affected by breast cancer.  Throughout Race Day alone, we raised over £20,000 for Breast Cancer Care!

Silverstone 2018 marked the half way mark for our partnership with Breast Cancer Care and we're already busy planning our next fundraising activity together to get that step closer to our £250,000 target.
