This evening, Monday 7th September, a good friend had a free space going to take part in the Great North Run and I said yes without evening hesitating, even though realistically it's a stupid idea considering I haven't had any training.

Each time I've heard about a friend who's family member has been affected by cancer it's genuinely upset me. But for it to then affect your own family the emotions become much stronger.

One day hopefully we might cure it, but in the meantime I'd like to show my support by doing the GNR, raising awareness and a minimal but worthy donation.

I've had absolutely no training (and I am genuinely panicking seeing as my back usually seizes up after a few miles), but I am going to try and complete it within 2 hours.
