Face the freeze and take an icy plunge to end homelessness

Story

Last year the 'Silly Swimmers' formed, some new to swimming, others who have swum for years. Named such as the group came together in the depths of the winter months, often swimming in the dark early hours before work.

We have all enjoyed swimming through the summer - but the difference is that this year we are still all swimming 'skins' (no wetsuits) as we very much move into winter. Then the idea came to us, why not do a dip a day in December and raise some money to help others.

Its no secret that we love swimming - but to swim every day through December, no matter what the weather, as the water gets colder, gets a little bit harder each time - especially when just in 'skins'. Hopefully enough of a challenge to think about donating money to Crisis.

So we ask you to help us raise money, not for us, but to help those who are cold without choice, who cannot go home to a warm shower, have a hot flask of tea to warm up or put on a warm coat after getting cold. But they are just cold and without anywhere to go.

Crisis work directly with thousands of homeless people every year. They provide vital help so that people can rebuild their lives and are supported out of homelessness for good. They offer one to one support, advice and courses for homeless people.

Thank you
