Children from a deprived background can have gone through various kinds of traumas that can affect their learning. As a trainee psychotherapist, this is a perfect opportunity for me to visit Kashmir and observe the tools and support needed for teachers, in order to support children further with their learning. In other words, I want to take this opportunity to explore more into the mental well being of teacher's and their respective students. 

At the same time it would be a wonderful opportunity to help them as well, with your support, within the areas that Muslim Hands supports these schools. 

For children in developing countries - access to education, food and medical care are not guaranteed. Many children lack the opportunity to break out of a cycle of poverty and all too often life becomes a struggle for survival. Muslim Hands firmly believe education is a doorway out of poverty as it empowers people to build a better future for themselves and their families. That is why Muslim Hands has been focused on providing an accessible and high quality level of education for children since 2004. All the facilities we offer the children are free. We want to continue supporting needy children, but we can’t do it without your support.

• Invest in the future of children - We will ensure children’s school fees are covered. Children are also given textbooks, stationary and uniforms. 

• Daily nutritious meals - We will ensure hunger does not stop children from getting the most out of their school day. 

• Free medical check-ups across Kashmir - Problems like malnutrition can lead to serious illness. Children will receive regular medical check-ups to ensure they are in the best of health. 

• Free transport - We will provide free transport to all children in our Schools of Excellence. 

• State of the art facilities –Computer labs, audio and visual aids optimize learning experiences.

• Hiring and training – We will hire and train enthusiastic and inspiring teachers.
