Story
As a charity, St John Ambulance are there to support communities and the NHS day in day out. However, as the COVID-19 crisis rapidly evolves, they have had to ramp up their response hugely. In fact, St John’s aim now is to simply support the health service through this crisis and ensure their volunteers and vehicles are fully equipped to do so. St John Ambulance are also recruiting new volunteers and up-skilling and training current volunteers to perform duties in A&E
departments, 999/111 duties and other pressure relieving activities for NHS staff. St John Ambulance will also be providing significant support to patients at the new temporary Nightingale Hospital at the Excel Centre.
The Emergency Appeal to raise £5 million for equipment and replacement ambulances has evolved as the impact on St John Ambulance - and the NHS - has become increasingly more apparent. Therefore, all funding received will be deployed where the charity needs it most to ensure it can step up and meet the needs of the health service all over the country.
Thank you for any contribution you are able to make. As a reminder, the firm's Charitable Foundation will match funds raised by the London office up to a maximum of £10,000.
