Story
On Saturday 9th October, at approximately 8am UK time, I have taken the somewhat unusual decision to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane, freefall for approximately 45 seconds and then put my life in the hands of an oversized facemask.
This rash decision is further compounded by the fact that I am petrified of heights, small planes and diving in general.
Having scoured the internet for suitable skydive providers, I quickly discovered that each of them had glowing testimonials ...
It then dawned on me why those who have had terrible experiences had not gotten around to writing their review!
So why am I doing this?
I’m doing this because I know two people whose lives have been turned upside down by conditions that fall under the umbrella term ME or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
And sadly, there are many, many others that are also suffering from this debilitating and often misunderstood condition.
ME/CFS affects an estimated 240,000 people in the UK and up to a quarter are house or bed-bound.
The physical symptoms vary in severity between individuals, but can be as disabling as multiple sclerosis, congestive heart failure and other chronic conditions.
It is extremely saddening that there is currently no cure for ME/CFS.
But there is hope …
The charity, ME Research UK, is working round the clock to fund high-quality biomedical research into ME/CFS – to find its cause, to develop effective treatments, and ultimately to discover a cure.
They do, though, need your help …
And so, with my shameless plug I urge you my good friends to support me in helping ME Research UK.
And when I say support, of course, I mean grab your credit card, click on blue “Give Now” button and please sponsor me.
Please Do It Now! 😊
I’m paying for the jump myself and all proceeds will go directly to ME Research UK.
They really need your support, so please help in any way you can.
Also, please share this page with anyone you can think of. It will really help me out with getting to my goal of raising £1000.
Thank you
