Story
Hi all
I'm about to embark on a gruelling training schedule culminating in a 350 mile cycle ride from London to Paris next June.
I am cycling both to raise awareness of epilepsy and to raise money for this fantastic charity Epilepsy Research UK.
It's difficult to write this because our son Torben was only five months old when he started having regular seizures. Knowing nothing about epilepsy at the time made it hard to understand what was happening. Over time the seizures became more frequent and after many tests, much prodding and poking we were told that Torbs had a SCN1A genetic mutation.
Torben's condition meant he could suffer many, many seizures each day but through a combination of medications we were able to achieve some level of control.
Tragically, despite everyone's best efforts and dedication, Torben passed away in his sleep on 3 April 2019.
If there is anything you can spare to help me raise funds for Epilepsy Research UK then Kayleigh, Malin and I will be extremely grateful.
Thank you.
