During the last 2 years we’ve all seen the amazing work of the incredible NHS staff at Salisbury District Hospital dealing with the Novichok attack.  They now face another vast challenge dealing with COVID-19.

I’m sure, like us, you feel very fortunate to have such a fantastic hospital on your doorstep.  I’m also sure, like us, that you might be feeling rather helpless and wondering what you can do to help from the comfort of your home and garden.  Having spoken to Stars, the hospital's fundraising charity, what they need most is awareness of and money towards their recently launched Coronavirus appeal.  Many of their regular donations have stopped due to cancellation of events and hospital collection boxes and £150,000 is urgently needed for the following 7 key areas:

• Specialist training for staff
• Morale boosting treats for staff
• Therapy and counselling for staff
• Meals for parents of children who are in isolation
• Hospital garden improvements to allow time outside
• Hospital Chaplains to provide comfort and support
• Free wifi for everyone
