Story
So, we have decided to take the plunge…
Literally - out of an airplane, 15,000 ft from the ground 🪂
Our amazing Grandad, Ken Scurfield, was supported by St Luke’s end of life care team in August 2019 and this is our way of repaying them.
Our Grandad was an inspiration to us, and we wish we could
see his face when he finds out what we are doing down here! He was a kind and loving Geordie with a heart of pure gold. He suffered from the Big C for 10 years, yet he still managed to make us laugh everyday with his witty humour and constant jokes.
We miss him every single day that goes by, but we are eternally grateful for the time we got to spend with him, especially at the end
of his life when the St Luke’s team made him comfortable and eased his pain until he left us for the angels.
Therefore, we feel indebted to St Luke's for giving our precious grandad his dying wish - to go in the comfort of his own home surrounded by those who love him.
We feel the service that St Luke's Hospice provides to our
community so valuable to families going through the same pain we too endured as a family. They are an amazing charity and I am sure if they haven't touched your lives personally, then there is someone close to you that they have.
Our Grandad taught us to enjoy life while we can, so we are grabbing this opportunity to remember him with both hands (or a parachute).
We have set a goal but we are sure you guys are going to help us smash this!
Every single penny counts so please donate whatever you can – thank you so much❤️
Lots of love
Meg, Jake and Lewis xxx
**please be aware our Skydive will be paid from our sponser money with the surplus going to our chosen charity. xxx
