The Stroke Association - London to Paris Bike Ride · 10 September 2009 ·
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Please act FAST! *
Strokes are the leading cause of disability in the UK and the third most common cause of death after cancer and coronary heart disease.
Sadly stroke affects so many people. For me it happened in December 2008 when a stroke killed my lovely, witty, and very clever Aunty Clare (age 60 something!). And last year we lost Betty Fountaine - a wonderful neighbour and a great source of inspiration. So over 3 days in September I am cycling from London to Paris to raise money for The Stroke Association.
I am finally taking my training for this 250 mile sprint more seriously:
Sunday cruises are now at least 30 miles - thanks to my cycling buddies who come too and originally only signed up for the 15 mile loop.
I cycle to work - 32 mile return trip - once a week (apparently there is a tax incentive to do this I must look into!)
Tour de Vale - 55 mile route cycled route TWICE so far
I have cycled Stratford-upon-Avon to home (about 80 miles) and from Reading to Oxford - that'sa big chunk of National Cycle Route 5 done!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
