This year is 'the big 3-0' and I want to do something to mark it. There's no way I could run 30 miles so I figure a walk is the next best thing. This means the next couple of months are going to be full of clean(ish) living and lots of long walks in the countryside - which sounds lovely in lots of ways but it will be Bloody* Hard Work. I'm expecting the walk to be pretty tough, 34 miles in 12 hours is the goal. I'll be walking the bulk of the route on my own which will be as much of a challenge as the physical side of things. Getting lost and confrontations with cows are likely.
As well as being good for my own health and wellbeing it's a perfect opportunity to raise some money for City of Trees, the charity I work for. They do brilliant stuff planting trees, managing woodland and giving more people living in urban places the chance to connect to nature. Trees and woodlands aren't just good for the environment, they're good for wildlife and good for all of us. They can help us feel happier, healthier and more connected to each other.
Every £10 helps plant a tree and work with communities so they can get the benefits from them. Please dig deep and support this amazing cause! It means a lot to me.
