Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm so nervous already but doing something crazy for a VERY GOOD CAUSE........ Part of The Tree Of Hope Foundation, Skye Cowan is 6 years old and lives in Poole. She is bright, beautiful, funny and a very determined little girl. She has Cerebral Palsy, Spastic Diplegia. Her family are trying to raise enough money for Skye to go to America so she can have an operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy or SDR for short.
The operation is performed at the St Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri by Dr Park. He has been performing this operation for over 28 years and operated on over 2,000 children with a 100% success rate.
THIS OPERATION FOR SKYE IS NOT AVAILABLE ON THE NHS
The SDR operation will help Skye considerably. At the moment she wears leg splints every day and night to help her with her balance. She can walk but gets very tired easily and often trips and falls. This is because of her muscle tone in her legs being very tight due to her condition.
