Story
I'm running the London Marathon and the Great North Run for Maggie's Centre Newcastle.
My lovely Mum, Susan, was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer in March 2021. Having been through chemotherapy and surgery last year I wanted to do something positive to help others with their journey through cancer.
Sadly Mum died on 25th August so I’m doing this in her memory. She was so pleased we’d made our fundraising target, help me to make her proud.
Mum chose Maggie’s Centre Newcastle as it was “such a welcoming place for patients and their families”
On taking on London Marathon, Mum said “Keep on looking at the horizon, and I know you’ll get there”.
Please donate what you can so that they can continue to provide support for people with cancer and their families:
- £15 could pay for someone to get immediate support from a Cancer Support Specialist
- £30 could help pay for a session with a psychologist to reduce someone's anxiety
- £100 covers the cost of a 'Getting Started' session, helping someone with cancer learn to manage their diagnosis and treatment
