Sian's Royal Park Run

Royal Parks Half Marathon 2018 · 14 October 2018 ·
I am running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October this year to raise money for a charity I feel passionately about.
I've lived and worked around London for many years and have always been struck by the amount of homeless people I continue to see.
It's believed that there are currently around 8,000 people sleeping rough on the streets of London every year and the problem is getting worse.
So why is this problem increasing and not declining?
This sadly lies heavily with persistent cuts in funding, which results in projects struggling to find the aid they need to continue their vital work.
In light of this, the charity I have chosen to fundraise for is Evolve Housing + Support.
Evolve Housing + Support are the third largest provider of supported homelessness accommodation in London. Through their support they help people off the streets and into happy, healthy independent lives.
They provide much more than just a roof. Each homeless person that comes into their service has a designated key worker to support them, access to counselling, services around mental and physical health, workshops around cooking and budgeting and a team of work and learning coaches which help homeless people find jobs or a way into education. Essentially it is a complete solution to getting homeless people off the streets and into a happy, healthy independent life.
78% of homeless people that move to Evolve then move on into their own accommodation and independence! :)
But they need extra funding to be able to continue this life changing work!
Please support me and the homeless people of London by donating. Let's help more people off the streets and into a happy, independent life like yours or mine! It will mean so so much.
