Story
Tyler, age 7 has Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia. His life will be dramatically improved with an assist dog. The pup has been bred especially for service and will meetTyler for the first time in mid February. He is a labrador x flat coat retriever and has been named 'Buddy the Elf'
Buddy will live with Tyler's family and be in training for two years at Bales Buddy's . In time the pup will wear a special harness and support walking, running, stairs and most important prevent painfull falls. Buddy will also provide invaluable emotional support, comfort, sleep settling , pain management and encouragement throughout lifelong physiotherapy.
Buddy was born at Green Cart Farm from our dog Reggie who has a long line of amazing service relatives and decendants. The first 8 weeks of an assist dogs life are very important as the puppies need to learn pack heirchy, human/pack social cues and be gently exposed to as many animals, cars, noises, children and environments as possible.
We work with the Assist puppies daily, handling, showing them chickens, sheep and horses, cuddling them, and alot of basic training.
Support the magical world of assist dogs and be a part of Tyler and Buddy's journey.
