Story
It's easy to feel removed from the harsh reality that many children and families face around the world. That's why I've decided to "Walk a day in their shoes".
On the 27th of March we will walk for 12 hours around the Auckland isthmus (approx 40km).
We will walk in the shoes of:
- economic refugees who are trying to walk from Central America to the USA.
- child labourers who walk along the highways picking up recyclables.
- parents who carry their children while they work each day
We will be doing this to raise much needed funds for NPH New Zealand, a wonderful charity that helps vulnerable children and families across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Hannah's family has been sponsoring a girl from NPH Haiti for 4 years. She is an incredibly gifted girl who has been chosen to be a part of a the National Soccer U20 team. NPH Haiti continues to support her financially so she can finish her schooling.
All funds raised by our walk will go to NPH Haiti to help over 1100 children that they support in their homes and community programmes.
