Shona's Great North Run for Anthony Nolan

Great North Run 2024 · 8 September 2024 ·
This year I'm taking part in the Great North run to raise money for Anthony Nolan after a good friend of mine, Leah, is in need a stem cell transplant after being diagnosed and then relapsing with Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. They do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant.
Leah found out she has 7 potential donors for her stem cell transplant which has been made possible through the work that Anthony Nolan do. Three lives are saved every day by Anthony Nolan via the work they do including groundbreaking research and pre and post transplant care, giving families a future.
For someone with blood cancer or a blood disorder, an amazing stranger donating their stem cells could be their best chance of survival.
Check out the Anthony Nolan website to register yourself as a donor!
This is the longest run I've ever taken on and it's all in hopes of raising some money for this great charity. I'll be updating you all on my training through this page via strava so any donation or simply some words of encouragement throughout would mean the world ❤️
