Story
We are a small group of volunteer CFRs or Community First Responders in the Sholing area that are trained and deployed by South Central Ambulance Service in people's time of need.
We are 100% fully funded by Public donations and we are very appreciative for all of your support.
Every penny counts but these are some examples of where your funds go
£5 pays for new bandages, plaster, asprin and clinical wipes
£10 pays for a members uniform polo shirt
£18 pays for a replacement set of defibrillator pads
£156 pays for a defibrillator battery
£180 pays for the annual rental charges on a CFR emergency pager
£250 pays for a volunteers medical kit bag
£1400 pays for a new kit bag with contents with AED and Phone
£1850 pays for a new public accessible automated external defibrillator
Without your help we can not be responders and most importantly we can not attend people that need our help within the Sholing community.
Community First Responders( CFRs) use life-saving skills, such as the use of the automated external defibrillator (AED), to provide early and often vital intervention for patients suffering life-threatening emergencies in the immediate vicinity of where they live or work.
Once an ambulance crew arrives at the scene, CFRs work alongside a clinically qualified practitioner
In case of cardiac arrest, for every minute that passes without cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation, a patient's chances of survival decreases by 14%.
Community First Responders answer calls in their neighbourhood, therefore, the potential for them to arrive on scene before an ambulance, especially in rural areas, is vital in providing immediate life-saving treatment. These extra minutes do help to save lives.
